Smithing you just need iron ore and transmute spell to get gold ore for jewelry (quicker than iron daggers imo). After you get dwarven smithing go to a dwarven ruin with a follower and pick up as much stuff you can smelt. I went through the ruin for the college of winterhold quest and got 400+ dwarven metal ingots.
