Here, we present all dry fabrication of superhydrophobic surfaces through mechanochemical grafting of silicone. The entire process consists of agitating silicone and nanoparticles in a planetary ball mill for a duration on the order of minutes. A lowcost and biocompatible silicone is employed for lowering the surface energy of nanoparticles.
